Site-specific installation; painted found object (ca. 40 x 20 x 25 cm) on a wooden stand, programmed LED light, spotlight, 2018
An unidentifiable, yet ordinary-looking object is painted using the principle of counter-shading. Slow changes in light intensity make shadows swap place with light and the object seem flat, then regain its shape and shadows in continuous cycles. The inexplicable changes establish a sense of alienation from the commonplace and neutral object.
