Technique: Layered laser print on natural white 120g Dorée Universal paper (acid and wood free). Pages are treated with fixative in spray (without UV protection).
Each page of the book is made by layering multiple laser prints on a single sheet. I blend different visual sources, such as photos of collected plastic waste, photos of found stones, or images of various everyday plastic objects found in online stores. Each visual element intertwines and connects like sediments. The book follows up on the series of paintings Mermaid’s Tears (2022). The main impulse for both was a new type of fossilized rock called plastiglomerate.
Melting Point was presented in SUPERMARKET 2023 – Stockholm Independent Art Fair by MUU in their selection of artists’ books and text-based video works that offer reflections on paradise, a view of digital history, tales of travel and a surreal detective story.
